The studio
Design that starts with listening
We are a small studio by choice. Every project is led by a principal architect from the first meeting to the last site visit, so the person who understood your brief is the person who draws it.
We design for climate and context, specify materials that last, and share costs openly at every stage.
- One principal architect on your project, start to finish
- Cost estimates shared at every design stage
- Site supervision included, not an extra

Clients
What our clients say
-
They listened for two full meetings before drawing a line. The house we live in today is exactly what we described, and it came in on the budget we agreed.
-
Our office used to feel like a corridor with desks. Now people choose to come in. The detailing is beautiful and the contractor never had to guess.
-
Honest about costs from day one, and on site every week. When a problem came up with the slab, they solved it the same afternoon.
FAQs
Before you begin
How much does it cost to hire an architect?
Our fee depends on the size and type of project and is agreed in writing before work begins. After the first meeting we send a clear proposal with the fee, what it covers and when each part is due.
How long does a house take to design and build?
Design and approvals usually take three to five months. Construction of a typical family home takes twelve to eighteen months after that, depending on size and finishes.
Do you work outside your city?
Yes. We have delivered projects in eighteen cities. For out-of-town sites we plan fixed site visits and work with a local supervisor between them.
Can you help with approvals and contractors?
We prepare all drawings needed for local authority approval and help you compare contractor quotes line by line, so you are comparing like with like.
What should I bring to the first meeting?
Any site documents or survey you have, photos of the plot, a rough budget, and pictures of spaces you like. If you have none of these, come anyway - we will start from a conversation.

Have a site or an idea?
